The 2021 SEMA Show is just days away, and Mopar is bringing some new concepts to the table, one of which is the Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner Concept. The standard Ram TRX already makes itself one of the most insane trucks on the market, with over 700 horsepower from a supercharged V8, giving the 3+ ton truck a 0-60 time in just 4.5 seconds, and can tow 1.5 times its body weight. Now, take all of that and give it a truckload of Mopar accessories and custom parts; it’ll make a dinosaur, unlike any other, and one that will surely take the title of the ultimate apex predator.
Ram 1500 TRX RexRunner Mopar Concept: The Details
Enter the TRX RexRunner concept, visually distinguished with Ash Gray paint and several Mopar Blue accents, including a center stripe that extends over the hood and roof, TRX beside graphics, Ram grille, and dual tow hooks in the front. The concept rides on 37-inch Goodyear tires mounted to custom-designed 18-by-9-inch Black Rhino Chamber wheels giving the truck a race-inspired appearance. A Rambar features a pair of concept 14-inch TYRI rectangular LED lights that generate 4,300 lumens to ensure excellent visibility when off-roading into the night.
Just below the RamBar sits a fully integrated, bed-mounted spare-tire carrier, which houses a full-sized, 37-inch spare. The TRX RexRunner concept also has a Mopar bed extender, a black Mopar spray-in textured bedliner to ensure the bed remains protected, and a Mopar bed step with an articulating arm to allow easy access to the truck bed. In addition, custom metal skid plates with laser-etched Mopar lettering protect the front and rear underside of the truck. The front skid plate also increases the approach angle by 2.3 degrees, bringing it to 32.5 degrees. If all of this added capability still isn’t enough, the RexRunner features Mopar rock rails to protect the sides from any potential damage. In contrast, a custom black flip-top fuel-filler door adds to the overall rugged exterior. Lastly, 5-inch black Mopar exhaust tips finish the overall exterior appearance.
Not as much has been done to the interior of the Ram TRX RexRunner concept, but a Mopar stainless-steel black rubber pads cover the pedals to increase foot traction, while molded one-piece door panels and a vinyl floor allow easy cleaning when adventures get messy.
