Whether they fought in Vietnam or are serving active duty today, we all know someone who has served in the United States Armed Forces. While Veterans Day has come and gone, it is important to keep those who have put their lives on the line for the United States in our thoughts. In order to celebrate the holiday and those who serve, FCA has just unveiled the new 2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition pickup truck.

The 2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition is set to honor the five service branches of the United States Armed Forces in style. The Built to Serve Edition will be available in two specially selected colors chosen to represent each branch of the armed forces, featuring five new low-volume paint colors that have been added to the Ram truck lineup. The military inspired color choices include Gator, Diamond Black, Ceramic Gray, Patriot Blue, Anvil, Billet Silver, Tank, Flame Red, Spitfire and Bright White. Only 1,000 units will be produced in each exterior color option, except for Spitfire and Bright White which are limited to 500 units each.

Ram says that the Built to Serve Edition packages will be available on all body styles and powertrains combinations of the 2020 Ram 1500, though each truck will be equipped with the 4×4 Off-Road Group package. This includes off-roading goodies like heavy-duty off-road-calibrated front and rear shock absorbers, an electronic-locking rear axle, hill-descent control, numerous underbody skid plates and all-terrain tires.

The 2020 Ram 1500 Built to Serve Edition also includes a number of exterior styling changes, including 20-inch aluminum wheels with a unique gray finish, sitting below body-color flared arches. A unique all-black front end treatment consisting of an all-black grille and grille surround, black bumpers and black-bezel premium lighting helps to give the truck an aggressive look. Black exterior badging, black side steps and dual 4-inch exhaust tips finished in black all continue the blacked out theme. A U.S. flag and a Built to Serve decal either rear quarter panel further differentiate the Built to Serve Edition from other Ram trucks.

Designers wanted drive home this truck’s military inspiration for the 2020 Ram 1500 Built To Serve Edition on the inside, too. Velcro panels on each front seat and on each front seat inboard shoulder panel will allow owners to apply their own patches to customize the truck with slogans or regimental information. The seat backs up front are also finished with PALS/MOLLE webbing so buyers can easily attach additional equipment or pouches. Corresponding with the exterior color scheme, unique interior stitching colors each represent a branch of the armed forces. Stitching colors include Light Frost, Light Ambassador Blue, Light Diesel Gray, Core Green, or Orange.

The price of the military-inspired Built to Serve package is $2,795, with the Army version currently starting the model run. FCA plans to launch a branch specific variant of the 2020 Built to Serve Edition Ram 1500 every three months, until all five branches have been covered.
