Out of all of the crazy stuff that happened in 2020, it is still hard to believe that FCA actually decided to build the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. Thanks to its 702 horsepower Hellcat V8 engine, the TRX is the most powerful, quickest accelerating, and fastest pickup you can get with a factory warranty. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the truck is also jam-packed with enough off-roading hardware to make an F-150 Raptor blush. With 2020 coming to an end, FCA has confirmed that TRX production has kicked off with the Launch Edition models.
According to FCA, Ram TRX VIN #001 has rolled off the assembly line at the company’s Sterling Heights Assembly Plant. It is the first of the 702 Launch Edition trucks that the automaker will build, one for every horsepower the truck makes. Don’t get your hopes up about snagging one however, as they managed to sell out in just three hours time. Like every Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition, this truck comes as standard with Level 2 Equipment Group. This package brings upgrades such as carbon fiber interior trim, beadlock-capable wheels, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, and some hood and bodyside graphics among other tweaks.

This particular unit has been fitted with some extra Mopar goodies, such as a RamBar, rock rails, and a bed-mounted tire carrier. The interior will feature an exclusive red and brushed-aluminum center console badge. Anvil is the only paint color available on the Launch Edition trucks.
FCA has also confirmed that the first 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition will be heading to auction, with the proceeds already earmarked for charity. They haven’t shared any more details about the auction or their charity of choice, though that information is slated to arrive in early 2021. If you weren’t able to secure yourself one of these trucks during the pre-order phase, now might be your best chance to land one. Just be ready to drop a serious amount of cash however, as early VIN models of enthusiast vehicles never go cheap.
