Unsurprisingly, People Want This Truck

It’s not like we didn’t see this coming: the Ram TRX Launch Edition supposedly sold out in less than a day. According to FCA, it only took three hours. The same thing happened with the Ford Bronco First Edition, only Ford upped the production numbers to fit the demand. We don’t see Ram doing this, as they are making 702 units in honor of the Hellcat’s 702 hp. So if you want a TRX, you’re not getting one in Anvil Gray.

This also means at least 702 people were willing to drop at least $90,315 on a pickup truck that starts life at just over $30,000. That being said, no segment has the price and trim spread of the pickup truck these days, and the Ram TRX certainly looks to take that to the next level.

These lucky 702 owners are getting a highly spec’d TRX, plus a few exclusive touches. It’s only available in Anvil Gray, and gets a unique interior plaque. As for equipment, it’s fitted as standard with the TRX Level 2 trim package, which comes fully loaded with all of the TR1 features, plus memory seats  and mirrors, remote start, parking sensors, power tailgate, wireless charging pad, and more.

The Ram TRX Launch Edition also gets the carbon fiber trim package, 19 speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, head-up display, dual pane panoramic sunroof and heated and ventilated front and rear seats. Those ventilated seats will certainly come in handy bounding across the desert at 100 mph with a Hellcat ahead of you.

That being said, it’s not like you’re settling for anything less with the “standard” Ram TRX. It’s poised to be the desert runner king, with 252 hp more than the Ford F-150 Raptor. The Ram also comes swinging with sophisticated 2.5-inch Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, selectable driving modes, full-time active transfer case, and an oversized air filter for dust particulates.

As for performance, this insane truck can rocket from 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds and 0-100 mph in 10.5 seconds, all the way to a limited top speed of 118. At that speed, it’ll certainly empty the fuel tank mow quickly than the Launch Edition sold out.
