Despite the coronavirus pandemic putting a bit of a damper on the automotive industry for a large part of the year, things are starting to look up here at home for Ford. Product debuts for a number of money making new models are just around the corner, including for the 14th-Gen F-150 pickup. With just 48 hours separating us from laying our eyes on the truck, the Blue Oval has dropped one final 2021 Ford F-150 teaser.
The image comes from the company’s Facebook page, attached to a post reminding fans to tune into the debut live stream at 8:00PM EDT on June 25. The new 2021 Ford F-150 teaser shows the pickup from above attached to a boat, and doesn’t really give us a great look at the truck’s new styling. It is at least better than the earlier teaser, which really only hinted at the presence of full LED headlights. Officially, here’s what Ford has to say for now:
Get ready. The next generation of F-150 is coming. Tune-in for the reveal of the toughest, most productive F-150 ever, and targeted to be the most powerful light duty full-size pickup.
The LEDs aren’t the only new bit of tech that are expected to land with the next-gen pickup however. All-new hybrid and full-EV powertrains are expected to join the lineup in 2022, as the electric truck market begins to heat up. MC&T was also first to report that the 14th-gen F-150 will feature an onboard generator to power tools or equipment directly from the truck.
Ford’s been clear all along that they’ve worked on improving the interior too, with a large infotainment screen coming to compete with the 12-inch unit found in the Ram 1500. Over the air updates are expected to come with Sync 4, along with an optional digital gauge cluster seen in spy shots. There is even going to be a flat-folding passenger seat, which will allow owners to more easily sleep in their truck should the need present itself. A rather exciting proposition for people who use their trucks for outdoor adventures.
We expect that this will be the last 2021 Ford F-150 teaser before the big unveil later this week, but we are finally getting close. This truck is not just a huge model for Ford, but for the American auto market as a whole. Here’s to hoping this ones a hit.
