2022 FORD MAVERICK AIR DESIGN CONCEPT TEASES A MORE RUGGED SMALL TRUCK

What If Ford Made A Maverick Tremor? Or Timberline?

Lately, doesn’t it seem like the only outputs coming out of the seemingly diverse Califonia car scene are modified pickups and overland Jeeps? Maybe that was just the natural progression away from the modded mini-trucks that were gutted, rebuilt, slammed to the ground, shaved, smoothed, and painted outlandishly. But hey, if things don’t change, they certainly won’t stay the same. This is where the Air Design USA’s 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat SuperCrew FX4 Off-Road Package arrives like a beacon of simplicity for the 2021 SEMA Show. But it also makes us fantasize driving the Maverick a little deeper into the trails. Could Ford be teasing a Maverick Tremor here? Or Timberline?

2022 Ford Maverick Air Design Concept At 2021 SEMA Show

After hosting an official measuring session earlier this year, the all-new 2022 Ford Maverick is making its debut at SEMA 2021 to much fanfare. As a result, the company brought a trio of modified Mavericks to celebrate the return of a truly compact pickup to its lineup.

Designed to demonstrate a catalog offering more than 160 Ford Licensed Accessories, Genuine Ford Parts, and Ford Performance Parts items at launch, the Air Design 2022 Ford Maverick arrives with Ford’s tried and true 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine and an aesthetic made to blend in with California life.

Easily the most attractive of the three 2022 Ford Mavericks on deck that will be at the Ford Performance display at the 2021 SEMA Show, the compact Candy Red truck sports Air Design USA fender flares, door moldings, and a tailgate appliqué styling package all finished in glossy black.

As per the scene, performance upgrades are small but tasteful. Aurally, the truck will sing through a new cat-back exhaust with black chrome tips, while visually, a 1.5-inch lift kit adds a new presence. The increased clearances are put to work by bolting on a set of 18-inch wheels which stuff the wheel wells with 31-inch all-terrain tires.

The Air Design 2022 Ford Maverick’s utility is amplified thanks to a color-matched bed cap, which we gotta say completes the whole look. Inside, the cabin benefits from Ford Licensed Accessories all-weather floor mats, a roadside assistance kit, rear under-seat storage bins, and a portable refrigerator for coconut water or snacks, or whatever people put in portable fridges built into compact pickup trucks.

Say it with us: Ford Maverick Timberline! Ford Maverick Tremor!
