It takes a special person to answer the call of duty and fight for the freedoms of the United States of America. While they pay the ultimate price by sacrificing their freedoms and are oftentimes asked to step overseas, sometimes doing so actually comes with its own perks. Take for instance, Zach Hancock, a U.S. Soldier stationed overseas in Germany. Zach has been lucky enough in his three years of service to tally over 200 laps at the famous Nürburging. His vehicle? A 2017 Hyper Blue Camaro SS 1LE. With tasteful bronze wheels, spoiler, and ZL1 1LE front clip. Hot.

His love for Chevrolet muscle appears to run as deep as his presumed love of country. During his ride along video with Misha Charoudin he said the only way he would part ways with his decked out muscle car was for a chance at owning a highly coveted 2023 Corvette Z06. The Z06, in case you didn’t know, has also been seen numerous times testing at “The ‘Ring,” though we have yet to see an official time from the supercar. We’ve also seen a RAM TRX take a few laps, perhaps as one of the more radical representations of American-made machines circling The Green Hell.

Zach’s vehicle isn’t a ZL1 1LE but his modifications make it nearly identical, missing only a supercharger to supplement the 6.2L LT1 V8 producing 455 horsepower. A Camaro ZL1 1LE, by comparison, punches out 650 horsepower with the aide of a supercharger. Zach’s Camaro also features an oversized wing in comparison to the ZL1 1LE. The Hyper Blue Camaro borrows the ZL1’s suspension as well, a point made repeatedly in the video. Also noted in the video is the fact that Zach will soon be finished at his post in Germany and will ship back stateside, this time to California, within driving distance to another famous track, Laguna Seca.

Unfortunately, the Camaro will be an increasingly rare sight at the ‘Ring, as General Motors has opted to shelve the nameplate for the foreseeable future as it both prioritizes the Corvette brand and electric vehicles instead.
