AWE EXHAUSTS RELEASES TWO C8 CORVETTE KITS THAT SOUND DIFFERENT THAN THE REST

The Design Layout Is A Unique Setup

While the Chevrolet Corvette has lived most of its life as a potent sports car, owners have always found ways to eek a little more performance from their cars. The C8 Corvette is no different in this respect, albeit the engine is not as easily accessible as it once was. AWE Exhausts have just rolled out two new exhaust kits for the C8, which feature a design trick not being used by anyone else in the Corvette space.

AWE Exhausts is headquartered just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and has been building top-tier performance components since 1991. These two new C8 Corvette exhausts kits are just their latest edition, and aim to provide a noticeable change in both tone and performance for their buyers. Available in either Track or Touring Edition spec, these AWE Exhausts kits utilize an asymmetric design that the company says unlocks a signature tone from the engine.

An asymmetric exhaust design can be used to help smooth out or “clean up” the sound of an engine. If placed behind the catalytic converter, the unequal length pipes can shift the sound you hear all together. Porsche recently employed this tactic on their 718 Boxster and Cayman models, in order to bring a *better* tone out of their turbo-four motors.

The AWE Exhausts don’t just provide a change in tone however, as they also are expected to provide max gains of 19 hp and 15 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels. That’s a fairly large jump for the simple addition of an exhaust, but the end result makes the C8 Corvette sound as angry as the numbers would suggest. It’s easy to install too, as the 3-inch Stainless Steel kit requires no cutting at all. Everything you need to bolt either system right up will come in the box, including an upgraded aluminum heat shield and Active Fuel Management valve stimulators.

AWE Exhausts has both of their C8 Corvette kits available for purchase on their website, and they are currently running a sale. The more affordable Track Edition system starts at $1,990 with chrome tips, whereas the more refined Touring Edition will run you $2,695.
