C8 CORVETTE GETS CARBON FIBER AERO PARTS FROM RSC TUNING

The Stingray Looks Great With A Ducktail Spoiler

With the move to a mid-engine configuration, the C8 Corvette looks more exotic than ever before. And if anything goes hand in hand with exotic sports cars and supercars, it’s carbon fiber. It’s no surprise that GM’s Carbon Aero pack was so popular that suppliers couldn’t keep up with demand, and it’s no longer available. This means you’ll have to turn to the aftermarket for any kind of carbon aero parts on the C8, and RSC Tuning just dropped a splitter, side skirts, and spoiler that look fantastic.

That spoiler is most interesting, though. We haven’t seen many (if any) companies go for a decklid spoiler, but they should. The ducktail design works well with the rear of the car, maybe better than the high wing designs that are out there.

The side skirts and front splitter are about what you’d expect. They certainly ramp up the aggression of the C8, and look great. RSC Tuning says they have tested the aerodynamics of the parts, and they increase downforce or airflow without a major drag penalty.

As for the carbon fiber itself, the parts are made with all pre-impregnated carbon fiber and feature a 3k 2×2 twill. It’s also made with a clear, gloss epoxy finish. The spoiler also gets a UV inhibiting layer in the epoxy that protects from fading for 10 years or more. RSC Tuning also says all of the parts are easy to polish, so they can look brand new all the time.

As for cost, carbon fiber isn’t cheap, and these aren’t either. The spoiler will set you back $1,295, while the splitter is slightly more at $1,495. Unsurprisingly, the side skirts are most expensive at $2,795 for the pair.

If you buy all the parts, the kit comes in at a fairly hefty $5,585. That’s more than SpeedKore’s $4,562 kit, but their offer doesn’t include a rear spoiler of any kind, only side skirts and a splitter. If anything, we are most tempted by the rear ducktail spoiler, as it’s a unique look that only RSC Tuning offers for the C8 Corvette.
