C8 CORVETTE OWNERS CAN NOW BUY A C8.R INSPIRED SPOILER

Just Not From Chevrolet

C8 Corvette C8.R Wing Kit

Back in May, MC&T reported that Chevrolet was removing the High Wing Spoiler from the 2020 C8 Corvette options list, as suppliers were unable to meet the demand of the sought after extra. This had to be a bummer for some buyers who wanted the added aero, but now Victor Racing has a solution with their new C8.R-inspired spoiler.

This carbon fiber spoiler on offer from Victor Racing was modeled after the unit that is used by the Corvette Racing team on their C8.R racers, and measures an insane 70-inches wide. The wing also features three different downforce settings, allowing owners to adjust their set-up for different tracks. This isn’t just a novelty item, as Victor Racing has tested to spoiler up to 140 mph while in the most aggressive downforce setting with no issues.

Installing the spoiler isn’t a terribly dramatic process either, should you have a power drill laying around. Simply place the aluminum support under the decklid and follow the guides provided, and you’ll be making more downforce in no time. Best yet, the addition of the spoiler doesn’t disrupt the driver’s view out the back. It’s even bigger than what you’ll get on the C8 Corvette Z06, which will have a different wing design than the C8.R, and even optional active aero.

The C8.R didn’t immediately win over the hearts of the Corvette faithful, something we think is related to its lackluster engine note compared to previous Corvette Racing stars. The car is proving to be rather capable however, securing its first class victory at Le Mans last month before setting a GLTM lap record at Sebring of 1:55.634. While we aren’t saying that this Victor Racing wing will make your C8 Corvette that fast, it will at least make it look that fast.

For the time being, Aerolarri are the first to stock the Victor Racing spoiler for the C8. Prices start at $1,699, though prices can go up depending on the type of end cap that the buyer chooses.
