If you’re in possession of a large off-road oriented truck – say a Ford Super Duty Tremor or a Ram HD Power Wagon – there’s news for you. BFGoodrich has you covered with a new tire, the HD-Terrain T/A KT. And it will be available come April 1.
BFGoodrich HD-Terrain T/A KT Tire: Details
The BFGoodrich HD-Terrain tire is engineered for the big bois with extreme conditions in mind. BFG wanted to make sure these tires could handle the work by testing them in the most challenging environments for tires. As a result, these new tires don’t mess around with features, including:
- Chip and tear durability and sidewall toughness: The tires were tested in extreme conditions. After each test, the tires rolled away, ready for more. HD-Terrain has an all-new tread compound designed to resist chipping and tearing.
- Application- and fitment-focused: The demands of heavy-duty trucks are on the rise, so BFGoodrich engineered a tire that meets the moment and then some. Whether dumping tons of stone into a truck or towing something hefty out of a ditch, the tires are purpose-built for any task.
- Traction: No job is off-limits with the BFGoodrich HD-Terrain tire. With “Mud-Phobic” bars and a serrated shoulder design, the tire is designed to plow through gravel and mud without any drama.
The BFGoodrich HD-Terrain tire also features what they’re calling CoreGard technology, just like the beloved BFG KO2 tire, which offers unmatched toughness against sidewall splitting. This has crucial benefits in both off-road motorsports, as well as an unpaved jobsite. This is because tougher tires reduce vehicle downtime, as they’re less susceptible to wear and punctures.
While all of this is fascinating stuff, probably the most essential feature of this tire is that it will wear “Baja Champion” on its sidewall after capturing a SCORE Baja 500 class victory in 2021, which should say plenty about its durability.
