CHEVROLET SILVERADO, GMC SIERRA HALF-TON TRUCKS GET SUSPENSION HELP FROM HELLWIG

Boost Your Towing Performance

From the factory, the General Motors half-ton pickup trucks perform admirably in towing. But as with any pickup truck, there’s only so much weight they can take before unfavorable side effects come from suspension squat on the rear axle. That’s why Hellwig Suspension Products are introducing their helper leaf springs for the 2019 and newer Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 light duty pickups.

When towing a heavy load, the rear axle can squat down, raising the front end of the truck. This degrades ride, handling and overall driver control. Hellwig’s helper springs level out the rear axle under load, improving performance. Their new Pro Series Helper Springs are compatible with all trims and powertrains on the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500, meaning any and every light duty GM truck owner can fit these.

The two-spring system can handle up to 2,500 lbs of load-leveling capability, but are fully configurable to match the weight of whatever owners are towing or hauling. The right and left springs can also be adjusted individually to compensate for an uneven load. Finally, they also feature silent bushings, so owners won’t have any compromise when choosing to use the Hellwig helper springs.

The springs are made in the USA and come with a lifetime warranty on all steel parts. They also come with all the parts necessary for install, and can be done at home with common hand tools. Hellwig hasn’t given pricing information on the package, but if it’s in line with their other products, expect it to be around $120.

Overall, these helper springs seem like a great buy for anyone that frequently tows or hauls heavy loads in either a 2019+ Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra. They will improve safety and control when towing, boost comfort and decrease excessive tire wear. Plus, Hellwig has a stellar reputation and 74 year history in the helper spring space, so you’re paying for a truly high quality product.
