Hennessey Performance Engineering has announced the Velociraptor 600 upgrade package for the new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor. Orders are being placed now and will ship out in the early parts of 2022. The base price for the upgraded truck will start at $85,950, which includes the price of a factory 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor. But if you buy a stock 2021 Ford Raptor, you can upgrade it later, if you want.
2021 Hennessey Velociraptor: The Details
The factory 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor comes with 405 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque from its high-output 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine. From the existing platform, Hennessey gets the new Raptor to kick out 600 horsepower and 622 lb-ft of torque. This is thanks to a revised air-induction system, high-capacity intercooler, and engine software. Hennessey targets a 0-60 time at 4.2 seconds, an almost 1-second decrease over the factory 5.3-second time. The muscle truck can handle the quarter mile in 12.9 seconds, an improvement over the base models run at 14-seconds flat making it on par with the Ram 1500 TRX, despite being down 102 horsepower and two cylinders.
Upgrading The 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor
Yes, you can upgrade the powertrain components from the base model to the Velociraptor 600 for $19,950. You can also add the off-road stage 1 package that includes a 3-inch suspension lift with front leveling kit, a new front bumper that includes LED lights, as well as a different rear bumper and 20-inch wheels on 35-inch tires for an additional $17,950. If you are seeking an even beefier muscle truck, the Ford Raptor R is expected late next year featuring the 5.2L V8 Predator engine as seen in the S550 Mustang Shelby GT500.
