JEEP WAGONEER CARBIDE INVITES YOU TO JOIN THE DARK SIDE

The Color Scheme Throughout Resembles That Of Elemental Carbon

The biggest of the big SUVs are here. Jeep revealed its long wheelbase versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer at the New York Auto Show, and somehow they’re even bigger than their rivals from GM and Ford. Icing on the cake from Stellantis during the show comes in the form of a new  2023 Jeep Wagoneer Carbide trim that makes luxury look more aggressive than ever before.

Carbide, in chemistry, is the name for a compound consisting of Carbon and a metal. The industrial uses can be found in top-shelf drill bits, they’re more expensive but also feature longer life spans and superior durability. When it comes to the Jeep Wagoneer Carbide, the color resembles that of elemental Carbon, a grayish black hue, that is accentuated both on the exterior as well as the interior of the vehicle, similar to the Obsidian package offered on the Grand Wagoneer.

The Wagoneer Carbide rides on Gloss Black wheels and features a panoramic triple-pane sunroof as well as Gloss Black grill rings, roof rack, and badges. Lower front and rear fascia’s as well as door flares sport a Diamond black color. Also in Gloss Black are the daylight opening moldings, headlamps, mirror and sill cladding appliqués. A similar dark theme is found inside. The Carbide package comes with a new hydrographic dash trim and a Smoke color accents the Global Black seats, instrument panel and doors.

The new trim will be available sometime this spring for the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, and the second half of 2022 for the new Wagoneer L. At the time of this writing it isn’t available on the build and price tool yet, however, it is expected to be more affordable than the six-figure Grand Wagoneer Obsidian. The 2023 Wagoneer L will feature a towing capacity of 10,000 pounds and feature the Standard Output (SO) Hurricane engine supplying 420 horsepower and 468 lb-ft of torque.
