Today, Ram introduced a visionary road map at CES 2023 with its Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept, which provides a glimpse into the future and demonstrates how the truck brand will once again redefine the pickup truck segment. The leading-edge Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept showcases a truckload of innovative features that will be seen in Ram trucks as we advance, particularly on Ram’s electrification journey. Within the realm of technology, the Ram BEV Concept is packed with features you didn’t even think you needed in a full-size truck.

The Ram 1500 Revolution Concept provides a glimpse into leading-edge technology with a fully connected customer experience and advanced mobility features that deliver confidence for hardworking people every day, regardless of their line of work. The concept provides seamless connectivity to transform the experience for the driver and passengers. In addition, the truck creates a connected hub that brings a consumer’s digital lifestyle into the vehicle, using advanced technology to create a customized space for each occupant.

Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept Technology: Features

Some unique technology features on the Ram 1500 Revolution BEV Concept include:

Vehicle Personal Assistant – An AI-powered virtual assistant enhances in-vehicle and exterior user interactions. A 3D Ram avatar acts as the vehicle’s face, responding to various voice commands from users. Additionally, voice control enables the Ram Revolution to follow the owner’s commands outside the vehicle, such as closing the windows, playing music, taking a picture, and “follow me” with Shadow Mode.

  • Shadow Mode – This allows the vehicle to follow the driver as they walk ahead automatically. This voice-activated feature can be helpful when the driver needs to move a short distance and doesn’t want to get back in the truck, such as when picking up tools or equipment from a job site. Fret not, as the truck will follow the driver at a safe distance, using sensors and camera technology to navigate around obstacles.

My Day – Intelligent trip planning based on users’ schedules and preferences to provide suggestions at the right time and location. Google Maps and Apple Maps do something similar, but now it’ll be integrated into the vehicle’s navigation.

Cabin Mode – Cabin Modes are “one button” settings that simultaneously adjust multiple aspects of the cabin experience based on the use case. They include Productivity Mode, Social Mode, Party Mode, Relax Mode, and User-created modes. Adjustments include the interior lighting, seat position and orientation, window and skylight opacity, vehicle suspension, sound zones, and display content. Some of these modes will come in handy for another feature packed into this Ram concept vehicle.

Advanced Augmented Reality (AR) Heads-up Display (HUD) – This feature combines AR HUD and advanced camera and sensor technology to provide enhanced driving assistance. For example, see-through vision uses camera and sensor technology to allow the driver to see objects outside their standard view on the AR HUD. Of course, the HUD can also display information.

Intelligent Storage app – This feature connects to your mobile phone, helping users measure objects to determine if they can be transported with their vehicle. Users can scan the product’s barcode or utilize a built-in augmented reality camera measuring tool to obtain an object’s dimensions. In addition, the mobile app will enable users to know how the object can best be positioned in their vehicle, and internal and external cabin projectors can assist by displaying guides on the target storage location. Whack.

Adjustable and removable lower display – This can be used as a tablet, passenger display, truck bed workstation, vehicle control, or if you’ve got some free time, a video game controller. In addition, the two 14.2-inch displays can be combined to provide an even more extensive viewing area. But, if you’re looking to watch a movie, the Ram 1500 Revolution Concept has something else up its sleeve for you.

Exterior Projector – the truck features multiple built-in projectors to provide an efficient way to communicate information to the user visually. The projectors also double as a mobile movie theater, allowing the owner to have movie night anytime, anywhere.

Smart Home Control – the user can control their smart home from the infotainment screen, adjusting devices such as lights, cameras, thermostats, and sound systems.

Advanced camera and sensor system – multiple cameras and sensors work together to enhance the driving experience and provide additional functions, such as 3D capture, biometric identity recognition, and 360 photos and video capture.

Autonomous capabilities – In Level 3+ autonomous mode, the vehicle retracts the steering wheel to provide additional space for the driver. Interior lights, the AR HUD, smart seats, and the steering wheel work together to offer next-level situational awareness to the driver.

Some of these things packed into this concept truck are simply mind-boggling and showcase what the future of the automotive industry could look like. Ram‘s decision to make a website dedicated to seeking customer input and feedback yielded some wild ideas.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
