After being canceled due to Coronavirus, we are happy to report the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School for the C8 Corvette has returned at Spring Mountain Motor Resort. According to Corvette Blogger, the first class was just completed on June 1, where 11 C8 Corvette owners took part in the two-day track driving program. The school was supposed to start back in April.
The program, located at Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Pahrump, Nevada is in full compliance with the state’s stage two COVID-19 reopening guidelines. This allows for gatherings of up to 50 people. The school is taking extra precautions to keep its customers safe, which is great to see.
Over the two-day experience, C8 Corvette owners learn everything about their ‘Vette from a driving perspective from a classroom and driving combination. Drivers learn about certain skills in the classroom, and then go out on track to put them to use. The main focuses are dynamic car control, cornering technique and visual skills. The school is open to drivers of any skill level, making it a great program for people that buy a Corvette as their first sports car.

In addition to the driving, customers have access to the many amenities at Spring Mountain Motor Resort during their overnight stay. And they don’t just stay in a hotel room, it’s a full “luxury condominium.” Sounds fancy.
To entice Corvette owners to take part in the program, Chevrolet subsidizes it at $1,000. This includes everything at the driving school, but doesn’t include the transportation to get there. Still, with flights dirt cheap right now, it’s not a bad time to do this if you got a C8 Corvette or have a 2020 model slated for delivery.
If you’re interested, you can book your class at their website or call them. We expect there to be many openings to fill the missing months from the shutdown.
