FIRST GMC HUMMER EV, FIRST C8 CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE UP FOR AUCTION IN MARCH

General Motors might in desperate need of a Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler competitor, but the C8 Corvette and GMC Hummer EV are some of the most exciting vehicles to come out of any brand in recent memory. Both are complete game changers for  iconic nameplates, moving their respective vehicles into a new era without losing any of the magic of what came before them. And now, you’ll have a chance to buy the very first example of the 2022 GMC Hummer EV and 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Convertible at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction in March.

Better yet, all the proceeds go to charity.

Indeed, the GMC Hummer EV VIN #001 and the first C8 Corvette Convertible produced will be sold at the exact same auction. The first example of any enthusiast car is always extremely valuable, and these two should be no different.

The GMC Hummer EV is unsurprisingly an Edition 1 model. This means it’ll pack the full triple motor setup, producing an astonishing 1,000 hp and 11,500 lbs ft of torque, which can rocket the massive truck to 60 mph in just 3 seconds. As with all Edition 1 Hummer EV models, it’ll be white with a black and white interior that features bronze accents. It’s also loaded with tech like Crab Walk, Extract Mode, Ultravision under view cameras, and so much more.

The C8 Corvette Convertible up for auction is a nicely specced example, painted in Black with the desirable 3LT and Z51 Packages. The black and red interior plays nicely off the black exterior, black wheels and red brake calipers, giving a stealthy look with pops of red accents. The very first C8 Corvette ever made, a black coupe similarly equipped to this convertible, raised $3 million for charity at the 2019 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction, so it will be exciting to see how close this one gets to it.

The GMC Hummer EV sale will all go to supporting Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps wounded veterans and first responders by building mortgage free smart homes. The proceeds from the 2020 C8 Corvette Convertible will be donated to United Way Southeast Michigan, an organization that aims to create stable households in the local area.
