Normally, if an automaker is trying to hide or obfuscate a future product that it’s testing, that vehicle is draped in layers of black cladding, disorienting black and white tape, and is otherwise covered in special camouflage. In the case of the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition, however, this pickup truck wears a different kind of camo.
As you can see from the official photos, the limited-run Silverado Realtree Edition once again blends together the popular Chevrolet truck with a leading sportsman apparel company aimed squarely at the hunting community. The Bowtie Brand unveiled the latest Silverado special edition at the 2020 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. It’s set to launch in summer of 2020, with pricing to be announced closer to that timeframe.
This is also the second collaboration between the two brands, following the success of the 2016 Silverado Realtree Edition.
Based on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Trailboss, the Realtree Edition will be equipped with a 2-inch factory suspension lift, 20-inch black wheels with Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT On-Off Road Tires, monotube Rancho shocks, Hill Descent Control, automatic locking rear differential, skid plates and an AutoTrac 2-speed transfer case. The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition also includes the 5.3L V-8 engine with a 6-speed transmission and is available with the 6.2L V-8 that will provide an SAE-certified 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, which is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Realtree camouflage graphics are featured throughout the truck, while the Realtree logo is integrated on the standard bedliner. From there we see unique blacked-out Silverado and Z71 badging, black rectangular dual-exhaust tips, 4-inch black round assist steps, plus all-weather floor liners. The truck is also equipped with the most standard cargo capacity in the segment with its high-walled truck bed, 12 standard tie-downs, and a roll-formed steel bed floor.
The new Realtree Edition joins a growing family of Silverado appearance packages, which includes the upcoming Silverado HD Carhartt Edition. Which one would you rather have?
