If you walk onto any job site in the United States, there are two things that you are almost guaranteed to see: pickup trucks and Carhartt clothing. These two Detroit inventions have become inseparable from the blue-collar industries that make up the backbone of the American economy. In what can only be described as a celebration of the two icons, Chevrolet has just pulled the covers off the production version of the Silverado HD Carhartt Edition.
First unveiled to us on the eve of the SEMA Show 2019, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Edition is the end result of a collaboration between the two companies that started in 2016. This came after recognizing the fact that their customers were largely the same made up of the same group of people. Available exclusively on LTZ models, the Silverado HD Carhartt Edition brings some added style with 20-inch wheels, body color bumpers front and read, a body color grille with chrome accents, Carhartt badging on the doors and tailgate, and a roll-up tonneau cover embossed with the Carhartt logo. The only exterior color available is Mosaic Black Metallic, which is offset by a Carhartt-colored pinstripe.

Inside the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Edition features exclusive two-tone Jet Black and Carhartt Brown leather seats with unique stitching, and Carhartt embroidered headrests. You’ll also find all-weather floor liners complete with the Carhartt badge.
For the 2021 model year, General Motors has rolled out a host of towing-related improvements for the Silverado HD lineup. Many of these features are software based, such as the new Trailer Length Indicator, Jack-Knife Alert, Cargo Bed View enhancement, Trailer-Angle Indicator for Rear Trailer View, and the Rear Side View enhancement. Hardware updates and a change in how the wheels are packaged has also improved the 3500 HD’s maximum tow rating for 2021, which now sits at 36,000 pounds when the 6.6L Duramax engine and the Max Tow Package are equipped, slightly more than the Ram 3500 and F-350.
The 2021 Silverado HD models began production in back September, with Chevrolet stating that dealers should start receiving their trucks as fall continues. That said, the Carhartt Edition package is not yet listed on the configurator, and Chevrolet has yet to give us pricing information for the truck. MC&T will provide you with an update as soon as that information becomes available.
