Ford is bringing back the Splash package for the Ranger, a loved appearance package from the 1990s. The revived 2022 Ford Ranger Splash will feature a base option with distinct side graphics and a limited package with one-time-only colors that will drop every few months, starting with what’s being called the Snow Edition.

Rumblings of the Ford Ranger Splash making a return started with a recent USPTO filing, which happened in June, 2021.

2022 Ford Ranger Splash: Details On The New Package

The two available styles for the new appearance option will be the standard Splash package, and the Splash Limited Edition. The base 2022 Ford Ranger Splash package will be available throughout the model year and will come with orange and black body-side graphics and 18-inch 12-spoke wheels finished in matte black. It will also include orange grille “nostrils” and gloss black accents on the rearview mirror caps, wheel lip moldings, fender vents, and grille.

The interior features exclusive carbon-grained seats with orange stitching and tuxedo stripes, while the Lariat will have leather-trimmed seats. The stitching also appears on the steering wheel, parking brake boot, and gear shifter. In addition, Lariat trims will get orange stitching on the front and rear armrests and the dash. The Splash package can be added in combination with the FX2 or FX4 package, so you won’t have to sacrifice off-road capability if you want a distinct look.

The 2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package will be available for SuperCrew models and in XLT or Lariat trims. The package price is $1,495, with deliveries set to start at the end of 2021.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
