The clock continues to tick down on the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 reveal, and today, October 20, we have an update. Chevrolet has released a teaser video of what will be a 30-minute long feature film of the Z06’s development leading up to this point, and in it was a quick glimpse of the C8 Z06 hardtop Convertible. The teaser also shows an eclectic cast of personalities both inside and outside the auto industry, including NBA star Devin Booker, former Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin, and YouTuber Emelia Hartford. We also get a little more audio from the supercar’s screaming 5.5L LT6 DOHC V8 engine. Yes, yes it does rev so high.
C8 Corvette Z06 Convertible
There have been a few spy photos and videos of the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 convertible floating around the infinite expanse of the internet, so this comes as no surprise. But it’s nevertheless the first hardtop Corvette Z06 convertible, featuring the same retractable roof design as we see on the current Corvette Stingray; which was the first hardtop Corvette convertible ever (no, the gussied up platform mate that was the Cadillac XLR does not count). It otherwise should feature the same mechanical stats as the hardtop model, though it’s unclear at this time if the Z07 Performance Package will be made available on this particular variant.
2023 C8 Corvette Z06 Reveal: All The Details
The all-new, 2023 Corvette Z06 supercar will be revealed at The Petersen Museum in Los Angeles California during a livestream event that will commence at 12:00 noon, Eastern Time, 9:00 AM Pacific. Following the reveal video, the 2023 Corvette Z06 debut will finish with a live panel discussion, which we’re sure is going to feature the who’s who of the Corvette team. People such as executive chief engineer Tadge Juechter and marketing frontman Harlan Charles come to mind. We’re sure a few recognizable faces from the Corvette Racing team are likely to be there as well.
At the conclusion of the live stream, the public will be allowed into the Petersen Museum to bear witness to the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 on display at a special exhibit. The cost of admission is $17 USD. Additionally, dealerships have been invited to throw watch parties for the C8 Corvette Z06 reveal, which Chevrolet sending out email templates to invite select customers to the virtual webcast reveal to watch on the showroom floor. They have also put together social media posts to help promote the reveal, but we doubt the Z06 needs much promotion given the hype surrounding the supercar already.
