CAN YOU ORDER A 2023 FORD F-150 RATTLER PACKAGE?

It’s official, you can configure your 2023 Ford F-150 now on Ford’s website. That being said, there are some causes for concern, already. First and foremost the 2023 Ford F-150 sees a price hike. Secondly, the more affordable “truck for the people” the F-150 Rattler package appears to be absent from the configurator altogether.

The 2023 Ford F-150 sees a price hike of nearly $3,000 ($2,925). Its 2022 model year starts at $31,520 while the 2023 sets its starting price at $34,445 and that doesn’t include destination charges. In addition to that, the rugged and budget friendly Rattler package does not appear to be present on the configurator at all, meaning it may be sold out already. When you enter the build and price tool, you’re immediately greeted with a notice, stating not all models, trims, or features may not be available to order. Ford says to contact your local dealer for future availability.

Ford hasn’t commented on our request for confirmation or to add further details.

The Rattler Package

The Rattler package was revealed in March 2022 this year, and is supposed to enter production this fall – which ends in a little over a month from now. It is a $1,495 option package based off of the FX4 package and made exclusive for the XL trim. The XL trim, being the entry-level F-150 of the family, the Rattler package is meant to be a more affordable overlanding package for those that can’t, won’t or don’t want to shell out $70,000 or more for an F-150 Raptor or RAM TRX.

The Rattler package can be equipped to an extended SuperCab or SuperCrew crew cab. The package can also be powered by just about any engine in the F-150 ranks except for the 3.3L V6. Below is a list of upgrades that come with the Rattler package;

  • FX4 skid plates,
  • Electronic rear-locking differential
  • Hill descent control
  • Off-road shock absorbers
  • All-terrain tires
  • Dual exhaust system
  • Painted 18-inch aluminum wheels
  • Unique “Rattler” badging on the fender vents and rattlesnake-inspired graphics.
  • Darkened Onyx seats featuring bronzed accents and unique stitching
