Ram may have just leaked some information regarding the upcoming refresh for the 1500. While there’s been much speculation surrounding the forthcoming truck as the sightings of heavily camouflaged trucks have been tested on the road, things remain a mystery. But a recent discovery by Tim Esterdahl of Pickup Truck Plus SUV Talk shares some exciting information.
What Engines Will Be In The 2025 Ram 1500?
Based on the equipment listing for the Ram 1500 Tungsten Crew Cab 4×4, the facelift will be part of the 2025 model year updates. This means we can expect an unveiling in 2024, with the first units likely making their way to customers later in the year. The leak shows that the high-output turbocharged inline-six Hurricane engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, will be available for customers. This confirms that the incredible engine that is more powerful and efficient than the Hemi V8 will be joining the 1500 range, but not as standard equipment, which could indicate that the Hemi V8 will remain for the truck.
The Hurricane engine may be an option for higher-end models, like how the Hemi is an option for the lesser models. As for the Tungsten, the trim will likely slot in just below the TRX and above the Limited. This is due to how Ram will be equipping the truck, which, if the leak is correct, includes a host of luxury features as standard, including dual wireless chargers, a smartphone as a key, a head-up display, a power tailgate, a premium sound system, almost every advanced driving assistance system on the market, and a wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Apart from the Hurricane engine, premium leather bucket seats, towing packages, and ventilated/massaging seats for the front and rear passengers, there’s little else to add to the truck. As for the design, we suspect Ram will borrow some of the REV‘s design cues for a more homogenous lineup.
