General Motors has been launching its latest vehicles with the new Global B electrical architecture, aka GM Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP), which introduced encrypted engine and transmission control units on new products, starting with the Cadillac CT4 and CT5 families and then onto the Corvette. That resulted in tuner companies getting their hands tied on what was originally possible in terms of modifying vehicles and boosting their output to new heights. But, after a good couple of years, HP Tuners, arguably the leader in aftermarket vehicle control modules, announced GM Global B support on select vehicles. This has enabled Hennessey to launch a Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing upgrade dubbed the H1000.

Hennessey Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing H1000 Upgrade: Details

As expected with the name, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing H1000 upgrade gives the epic sports car 1,000 horsepower with the help of a supercharger. From the factory, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing makes 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 6.2-liter small-block LT4 V8 engine. So, while the CT5-V Blackwing is already impressive, Hennessey takes it to another level.

Hennessey‘s engineering team fits the engine with a robust high-flow supercharger upgrade, high-flow air induction system, custom HPE camshaft, and an auxiliary fuel system upgrade. Long-tube stainless steel headers and the engine management software are updated with HPE engine management calibration. Finally, lifters and push rods are installed to improve performance, with a final result of 1,000 ponies and 966 lb-ft of torque. The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing upgrade also includes chassis dyno tuning, road testing (up to 500 miles), and, of course, H1000 Exterior badging, so it’s obvious to others on the track that this isn’t your average Blackwing.

Hennessey backs the entire build with a 2-year/ 24,000-mile limited warranty, which should give customers peace of mind that this exhilarating investment won’t bite them. You can inquire about the H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing on the company website if interested.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
