Despite the efforts to move Cadillac into electrification, the brand hasn’t yet abandoned its most potent sports car as it prepares to update the CT5 sedan. The refresh will also be added to the high-performance CT5-V Blackwing variant, which spy photographers recently captured testing on public roads. How do we know that the front bumper will be getting a refresh? Since the sedan wears camouflage across the front, it’s pretty easy to tell. The back also has a few concealed elements.
2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Refresh: What To Expect
The revamped style for the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be more aggressive than what’s found on the current car. With a new bumper with openings on the outer lower portion, closer to the edges, it already looks more aggressive despite the camo. The photos also reveal that new single-piece vertical daytime running lights will be equipped onto the car, partially hidden by the Dalmatian-inspired wrap.
At the rear of the CT5-V Blackwing, just a few components have been covered, hiding the badging and a small portion of the taillights. Beyond that, Cadillac isn’t changing anything else on the exterior from the looks of things.
For the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing refresh, Cadillac will likely keep the current powertrain found on the car, which is the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine that produces 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. That is paired with either a Tremec six-speed manual or the 10-speed automatic. The V8 can send the sedan to 60 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of over 200 mph. So, there’s no reason to fix what’s already perfect. And did we mention the CT5-V Blackwing sounds like a dragon on amphetamines? Because it does.
The cabin may also receive some updates, as previous photos of the sedan showed coverings over the dashboard. Likely, the cabin layout will closely resemble the recently redesigned XT4 crossover. That features a single screen spanning 33 inches, forming the digital instrument cluster and infotainment display. While Cadillac hasn’t said anything about when the revamped CT5 lineup will be unveiled, we can assume from the recent sightings that it’ll happen sometime later this year or early next, with availability sometime in the middle of 2024 for the 2025 model year.
Considering the couple of delays that GM is facing with its future products, the refreshed CT5-V Blackwing may arrive as a rolling model year update (2025i), so be on the lookout for these discrepancies as time passes.
