The C8 Corvette Z06 is currently the most track-capable Corvette in the lineup. Though with the new ZR1 right around the corner, that’s likely to change. At the same time, the verdict remains out for the almighty Nürburgring lap time. While General Motors has taken the car to the Nürburgring in the past as part of testing for the Z06, various factors have kept an official lap time from being published. And even though the Z06 has been on the market for a few years now, we have yet to see anyone else accelerate the car down the legendary straights and bends of this race track until now.

Misha Charoudin recently uploaded a video to his YouTube channel showcasing the legendary supercar accompanied by his thoughts on the vehicle and footage of his laps as he takes the car around the ‘Ring. Unfortunately, the track was quite busy during the making of the video, which means there’s no way Charoudin could have gotten his own official lap time as he had to contend with other drivers of different skills on the track. That said, it’s still a fantastic video to watch, and he still manages to hit some impressive speeds while racing around the track, while demonstrating the handling characteristics of the 670 hp supercar.

C8 Corvette Z06: Details

The C8 Corvette Z06 is unique thanks to its 5.5L DOHC V8 LT6 engine, which produces 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to the pavement via a unique 8-speed DCT calibration and radically adhesive Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, which helps the car achieve some quick acceleration times. Sure, the E-Ray is faster with acceleration thanks to the AWD configuration and the addition of an electric motor, which gives the car instantaneous torque, but the Z06 remains the track star.

The C8 Z06 shines thanks to several features added to the car, including Active handling, performance traction management, and an electronic limited-slip differential, all of which ensure the vehicle performs at its best every time it gets put through its paces. Unfortunately, the Z06 may be overshadowed this summer with the arrival of the ZR1, which will offer even greater power over the Z06. Still, we’re sure Chevrolet will make plenty of tweaks to ensure the Z06 isn’t put on the sidelines with the arrival of what will be the most powerful Corvette ever produced.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
