FORD BRONCO TAKES ON MICKEY’S HOT TUB IN MOAB

One Of Moab’s Most Recognizable Landmarks

Following the debut of the Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport lineups, we’ve gotten to see the off-roaders doing some testing out west. More specifically, there have been a series of videos highlighting the reborn 4×4 taking on some of the most famous trails in America’s Mecca of off-roading: Moab, Utah. Thanks to the BlueovalSn Facebook page, we now have a clip showing what appears to be a Bronco Badlands Series tackling Mickey’s Hot Tub.

Despite its goofy name, Mickey’s Hot Tub is a seriously challenging obstacle located at around mile four of the 6.5 mile long Hell’s Revenge Trail. The trail ride to the obstacle is no joke either, as the Bureau of Land Management lists Hell’s Revenge as “extremely difficult, and recommended only for very experienced drivers with advanced equipment”. Mickey’s Hot Tub itself is a giant pothole that does bear a striking resemblance to the “tub” your one uncle was so excited to get. It also happens to be the only one drivers are legally allowed to drive through on the trail without being fined.

In the 13 minute long clip uploaded to Facebook, we get to watch as a four-door Ford Bronco sinks its way into and then out of the slick rock trap a few times. Successfully making it through Mickey’s Hot Tub requires good breakaway, approach and departure angles, as well as a bit of skill. If the length of the video doesn’t give it away already, this wasn’t the fastest process in the world. If you just want to catch some highlights go ahead and skip to about 6:09 for some tub exiting action.

The video doesn’t pretend that the Ford Bronco was able to easily dispatch Mickey’s Hot Tub, which is a bit different from the other Bronco clips we’ve seen thus far. Instead we get to watch as the driver uses every bit of what the Bronco has to offer in order to tackle the famed obstacle. It certainly doesn’t hurt that this Bronco appears to be equipped with the Sasquatch Package, which we now know will be a $5,000 option. We just can’t wait to get our hands on one of these 4x4s ourselves for some off-roading of our own.
