The Ford Bronco Sport is primed to become a massive sales success, with the off-road crossover becoming a very common sight across America. Just like the regular Bronco, which enters production this spring, Ford wanted Bronco Sport customers to modify and personalize their vehicles as much as possible. While aftermarket companies will do well here, the Ford Bronco Sport accessories catalogue is filled with some enticing parts, and we are just seeing some of them in the real world for the first time. This first one might be the most controversial, however, as it’s a non-functional hood scoop that manages to still look pretty rad. The Bronco Sport Forum was able to get ahold of a photo of the scoop in the wild on this black Ford Bronco Sport Outer Banks.

The hood scoop is matte black painted and covers a decent portion of the hood. It gives a sporty appearance despite being totally cosmetic, and we think it adds a good bit of aggression to the feisty   little Bronco Sport. It’s also way more visibly on the Cyber Orange model pictured below. And even if it doesn’t serve an actual performance function, it probably reduces some glare off the hood.

Forum users are similarly split, with many saying the hood scoop looks great, but they’d rather not buy something that looks like it serves a purpose, but really doesn’t. Based on the engine configurations the Bronco Sport offers, it’s unlikely Ford will ever offer a functional one. If you like the looks, you may as well go for the Ford Bronco Sport hood scoop, and it probably won’t break the bank at $399.

That being said, we’d prefer to go for more functional and performance enhancing modifications if given the chance. The Ford Bronco Sport accessories catalogue has 160 different add-ons currently, and the overland camping accessories seem the most interesting. With practically every outdoors activity you can imagine, Ford has an accessory for it. The aftermarket is better for off-road performance modifications, where we are already seeing wheels, tires and lift kits beefing up the exterior.
