The Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are coming soon, and pose a serious threat to General Motor’s hierarchy at the top of the three row, full size SUV segment. Jeep has already rolled out two teasers, the first hinting at the Grand Wagoneer with a Grand Canyon shot, and the second showing off the starter button and a bit of the rear badge. This time, Jeep is playing at the history of the model while showing off the new SUV’s frameless rearview mirror.
We still aren’t sure if the new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will take any retro design cues from the iconic classic model, but showing it in the teaser video indicates that Jeep will try to play at their heritage. This certainly isn’t a new thing for Jeep, but it’ll be interesting to see how it’s implemented in an all-new model.
It’s also worth noting that while Jeep mentions “tomorrow” a few times in the video, there’s no proof the model is being revealed on Wednesday, August 19. It’s likely just a figurative “tomorrow” referring to the future.
But whenever the new Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are revealed, they will probably be a huge success for Jeep. The market has been crying out for a three row SUV from Jeep larger than the Grand Cherokee, and these new models fit the gap in the lineup. They will be based on a modified Ram 1500 platform, and have great off-road credibility. They are Jeep’s, after all.

Being on the Ram 1500 platform, expect similar engine offerings. This will likely include the familiar 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7 liter Hemi V8 with a possible mild hybrid option on both. A full plug in hybrid is also rumored, with 30 miles of EV range.
They pair are also expected to be the most luxurious Jeep’s ever, with upper trim levels sporting Cadillac Escalade rivaling luxury. This will allow Jeep to take on each and every one of GM’s body on frame SUVs.
Being the third teaser for the new SUV, we expect Jeep to continue to trickle out information until the reveal. Watch this space for everything and anything Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer.
