Coronavirus is causing American Expedition Vehicles to make some difficult decisions. And it may be a huge opportunity for those looking for an all-purpose bug-out truck or SUV that can go just about anywhere. Taking to Instagram, AEV announced the following:

“Everyone here at AEV is still very much hard at work designing new products, building vehicles and shipping out orders to customers and dealers all around the world,” said the post. “However, due to the recent cancellation some big events this spring, we are looking to take the opportunity to liquidate some of our existing fleet.”

Long story short, AEV is selling over 40 of their show cars and press fleet. This includes some of their SEMA builds. While these are all pre-owned, they have been in the care of AEV. The press cars may have taken more of a beating, however.

The company says, rather bluntly, most vehicles in their fleet are for sale. If you’ve seen something online, at a show, or in a magazine, contact them- chances are its for sale. It’s not often that you see a company selling this many vehicles from their own fleet. The instagram post lists contact information.

To some customers, buying a ex-SEMA show car could be even more special than a regular model. In 2019, AEV revealed the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison with the AEV 350 package, the Ram HD-based Prospector XL and the AEV JL Jeep Wrangler. These show vehicles could have been the machines that turned some people on to the brand, making them more meaningful.

Currently, American Expedition Vehicles sells three standalone vehicles. For trucks, there is the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison and the Prospector XL. For SUV offerings, there’s the JL Wrangler. Some of these should be for sale in their press fleet. Finally, AEV offers hundreds of accessories for off-road vehicles, including several GM, FCA and Toyota vehicles.

Most importantly, the vehicles AEV sells will fund future products and deliver customer cars. And given what they have done in their relatively short history, we look forward to what the future holds for the company.
