For more than 58 years, Mustang has stood for exhilarating freedom, and now it’s almost time to welcome the next generation of Mustang. In anticipation of the reveal of the S650 Ford Mustang, the company is inviting all Mustang owners and fans to participate in the countdown to The Stampede, the global event on September 14 for the all-new Mustang reveal.

At the very starting point of Woodward Avenue, America’s first paved road, Ford invites Mustang fans worldwide to descend on Hart Plaza for the debut of the all-new, seventh-generation Mustang at 8 PM EDT on September 14 in conjunction with the Detroit Auto Show.

The Stampede and The Drive Home: Event Details

Ahead of The Stampede, Ford is collaborating with America’s Automotive Trust and the Detroit Auto Show on a cross-country adventure with all six generations of Mustang, The Drive Home. In addition, Ford is expanding this annual road trip to the Detroit Auto Show by inviting and encouraging all Mustang owners and enthusiasts to join in on The Drive Home to The Stampede.

The event will kick off on September 6 at LeMay – America’s Car Museum in Tacoma, Washington. The Drive Home to The Stampede will cross nine states, plus more than a dozen stops. The final leg of this journey will see owners gather at Ford World headquarters on September 14 ahead of the reveal to parade together to The Stampede reveal event.

Mustang owners interested in joining the Drive Home or attending The Stampede debut event in Hart Plaza can find more details and registration on the Mustang Stamped Detroit website. For the fans that won’t be able to make it to The Stampede, the event will be broadcast live on social channels, including Ford YouTube and the Ford Mustang Facebook page. This will be the seventh year of the annual cross-country road trip that celebrates America’s motoring legacy throughout the country in the days leading up to the Detroit Auto Show.

Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Written by Zac Quinn

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
