Just last month, MC&T was able to report the good news that the most exciting automotive event of the year would be back on track. After last year’s disappointing cancelation, all the necessary boxes have been checked to make sure this year’s Roadkill Nights is a home run. Earlier this week, registration and drag racing applications opened for the general public alongside the official announcement of the four automotive personalities that will be competing in the Hellcat Grudge Race. Dodge, the official sponsor of Roadkill Nights, has spiced up the drag strip action on Woodward Avenue.
The Hellcat Grudge Race
The Hellcat Grudge Race will be a highlight of the Roadkill Nights festivities. The participants are Alex Taylor, Tavarish, Westen Champlin and Alex and Mickey from Throtl, all of whom are probably familiar faces to connoisseurs of automotive Youtube. They have all received Hellcat Chargers or Challengers directly from Dodge in addition to $10,000 cash to modify their vehicle however they please. In a little over a month, all four builds will race against Eric Malone from the hit MotorTrend series Fastest Cars in the Dirty South at the Woodward Avenue drag strip in Pontiac, Michigan. If you want to get in on the action and burn your own rubber, you can register here. There’s more than just bragging rights involved too; a $30,000 prize purse on the line, and some of it could be yours.
Roadkill Nights Is The Beginning Of A Fun Week
The applications close on July 14, and Roadkill Nights will take place exactly a month later on Saturday, August 14th. The event will commence the weeklong celebration of muscle car culture and automotive Americana. Roadkill Nights isn’t just about drag racing either. There will be an outdoor car show, and you can experience the raw power of Dodge Charger and Challenger Hellcats at the M1 Concourse. To add to the great news, the legendary Woodward Dream Cruise is also back in action this year and will take place on August the 21st. If you’re looking to get (legally) rowdy and have a one-of-a-kind automotive experience, we’d suggest booking your calendar.
