SINGLE-CAB FORD F-150 RAPTOR R CREATED BY PAXPOWER

Shortened Wheelbase, Added Power, And Decreased Weight

The Ford F-150 Raptor R is a glorious creation that takes the legendary status of the standard F-150 Raptor, adds two more cylinders to the engine, larger tires, and more intuitive suspension, creating something truly spectacular with 700 horsepower, which is two ponies shy of the Ram 1500 TRX; but that’s not too important as its lighter weight makes it faster, though articulation when off-roading has room for improvement. Off-roading in full-size trucks can pose additional challenges with the longer wheelbase. Still, PaxPower has created a solution for it with the single-cab take on the epic Baja-inspired vehicle.

PaxPower Two-Door Ford F-150 Raptor R: Details

PaxPower was approached by a customer in Saudi Arabia, where they do wild things in the sand, to create this epic two-door F-150 Raptor R. Just by removing half of the cab, PaxPower shaved off an estimated 1,700 lbs from the truck, making this creation around 2,500 lbs lighter than the Ram 1500 TRX. But that’s not all, as the two-door Raptor R is about three feet shorter in both overall length and wheelbase than the factory four-door. That brings its length to about the same as a Ford Bronco or a Jeep Wrangler, two of the most capable off-road SUVs currently on the market.

But PaxPower didn’t stop with just simply cutting out the back seats, as they’ve also added a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger to the Ford F-150 Raptor R, bumping the V8’s power to a staggering 775 horsepower. PaxPower intends on testing the truck properly with the added power and reduced weight in the coming months, but it expects the Raptor R to have an impressive 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 seconds. Underneath, the truck features longer control arms, internal bypass Fox Racing shocks, longer axles, steering links, and some other high-performance elements to take on whatever its future owner intends to throw at it.

PaxPower has only built two examples of this epic two-door Ford F-150 Raptor R, with a third on the way as a shop truck and test vehicle. The company has stated that any other potential customers interested in a short Raptor R should reach out to discuss build options. As for the first two examples, these will be making their way to Saudi Arabia.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
