Pritchett Canyon is one of the most challenging tracks you can find in Moab. If your vehicle is ill-equipped for the trail, you’re bound to damage it, roll it, or need a winch to get out of a tough bind. See, prepping an off-road vehicle isn’t necessarily for intimidating people on the road. It’s about not inviting the challenge. It’s a more forward way of insuring nothing bad happens.
Not many people would be willing to take a stock Ford Bronco on this trail, but when it comes to Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Loren Healy, you have to leave it up to the experts. But rather than pull a minty fresh Bronco from the line that a customer has been waiting two years for, they spared a non-salable model from the crusher.
Stock Ford Bronco Vs Pritchett Canyon
The stock Ford Bronco is riding on some Center Line Beadlock wheels with Nitto Trail Grappler Tires wrapped around them and Fun-Haver bolt-on rock rails to add more protection over what Ford includes with the First Edition. To ensure that they don’t get any significant damage on any part of the stock vehicle. Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Loren Healy removed all the panels and doors from the SUV. It’s just as good that they did decide to do this because, by the end of the adventure, there is some damage done to the Bronco, but since it was meant to be crushed, it’s definitely enjoying a better life even with the bit of damage done.
Not long after beginning the trail, the two come across an obstacle that breaks the taillights, equivalent to $1600. They reach a sketchy part of the trail that almost sees the Bronco flipped onto its roof, but Healy manages to power through. After scratching the front bumper, they decide to remove the corners to give the Bronco a better approach angle. The two managed to get through the entire trail within just two hours, which is impressive considering the Ford Bronco is stock.
