The 2022 Ford Mustang has 13 available color options to choose from, with seven new colors making an appearance. These new colors include Eruption Green, Dark Matter Gray, Atlas Blue, Brittany Blue, Grabber Blue Metallic, Cyber Orange, and Mischievous Purple Metallic. You may recognize the Eruption Green from the Ford Bronco, which looks exquisite in proper sunlight. Some of the new colors are appearing at Ford dealerships, with photos emerging on the Mustang6G forum.
2022 Ford Mustang: Eruption Green, Mischievous Purple, Grabber Blue
Starting with Eruption Green, it’s clear that this exterior color option looks best when the sun is hitting it just right. As these photos show, the color isn’t as beautiful as it could be due to the weather conditions the dealership had during the photo shoot. But once people start getting their deliveries of the Ford Mustang with this color, we might just see the color shine. And yes, it does remind us of the Highland Green that was on the Bullitt Mustang, but less emerald-y.
If you think the new Grabber Blue Metallic paint looks familiar, that’s because you’ve seen it before on the S197 Mustang, and on the spritely Ford Focus RS. The name is appropriate as it grabs the attention, and paired with the graphics for the Mustang Mach 1, it’s a gorgeous combination. Additionally, we have the new Mischievous Purple Metallic on a Mach 1, which has also arrived at a dealership, and looks just a few shades away from black based on the lighting in the photo. We got a closer look at this purple hue last November on the Mustang GT/CS package. When the light hits it just right, the Mustang looks magical.
With time we’re bound to see more photos of the new paint colors on the 2022 Ford Mustang, this is just three of the seven additions to the pony car. They give the Mustang more curb appeal, and with the segment sales declining, the colors could help boost sales at least a little bit.
