It’s time for the 702 horsepower Ram TRX power and cylinder-count king of the Dinosaurs to get worried. A recent photo leak confirms the arrival of the supercharged 5.2L Predator V8 for the Ford F-150 Raptor R. This particular engine could boost the power output of the F-150 Raptor to around 760 ponies, as seen in the S550 Mustang Shelby GT500. That’s what expected, anyway.

The photo posted onto theraptorconnection Instagram account shows a rotation sheet for a 2023 Raptor with the rumored 5.2L V8. We already knew that the upcoming F-150 Raptor R would feature a V8 engine, but until this leak, it wasn’t clear what specific engine it would be. The current F-150 Raptor features the high-output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine with a unique exhaust system that lets the truck clear its throat when accelerating. But it needs more power if it’s going to take the title of the power king of the Dinosaurs.

Ford F-150 Raptor R: What To Expect

The Ford F-150 Raptor R is rumored to be a limited-edition super truck and will likely feature a hefty price tag to boot. However, since its rival is the Ram 1500 TRX which costs around $70,000, we can see that the Raptor R price will be close to that range, more if it comes with available options.

There are design sketches that could be teasing the Ford Raptor R. Featuring red extraction hooks and two letterbox slits above the grille, which would help with the much-needed airflow that comes with having a 5.2L V8 engine under the hood. Beyond the concept art we have, there isn’t much we currently know about the upcoming Raptor R, which should be revealed this year. Whatever Ford has planned for the F-150 Raptor R, it’s certainly worth getting excited about with this new leak that places an exhilarating engine under the hood of an already exciting truck.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
