The Flat Out Autos GMC Jimmy is a vehicle to get plenty excited about. Since the short truck was brought to the 2022 SEMA Show, its been met with incredible feedback, and according to an Instagram post from the company, as of five weeks ago, there were just 10 build slots left available for 2023. It’s unclear how many that number is at now, but if you want one, it’s better late than never.

Flat Out Autos GMC Jimmy: Details

The base price for the GMC Jimmy conversion is $129,950, which includes the cost of purchasing a new 2023 Sierra or Silverado. From there, there are several options available that can increase the price of the truck. Based on the options presented on the Instagram post, a fully loaded Flat Out Autos GMC Jimmy will set someone back around $143,250. But for that price, you’re getting a 3.5″ Fox / BDS Suspension upgrade with remote reservoir shocks, epic craftsmanship that retains all of the goodies one expects from a modern GM truck, and all the things you would need to get out and use the truck the moment it’s delivered.

Flat Out Autos starts the build with a single cab GMC Sierra or Chevrolet Silverado long bed with a 5.3-liter V8 4WD. Next, they shorten the chassis utilizing all of the stock suspension components, and the back of the cab and the front of the Crew Cab bed is opened up and structurally welded to the cab’s inner structure to complete the “Uni-Body.” From there, a custom fiberglass removable roof that blends seamlessly with the lines of the truck is placed on the back. The removable top comes standard in fiberglass with visible carbon fiber and painted carbon fiber as optional upgrades.

The rear of the Jimmy gets finished just like the front, with all the seating surfaces wrapped in Katskin leather. The exterior is styled with an AT4 / Trail boss grill and bumpers or more classy Denali or High Country chrome bumpers, whichever the customer prefers.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
