STEEDA SPECIAL SERVICE FORD F-150 WANTS TO BE FIRST ON THE SCENE

An Upgraded Police Truck

The police force has used Ford vehicles for decades, most notably the Interceptor Explorer, which has caused many drivers to instinctively hit the brakes when they see any explorer as part of oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, what the Blue Oval doesn’t build is an F-150 police vehicle unless you count the Lightning, which would honestly be terrifying to see barreling after you. But Steeda has decided to change that by making a Special Service F-150 package.

Steeda Special Service F-150: Details

The Steeda Special Service F-150’s suspensions and chassis upgrades include a Ford Performance front and rear suspension lowering kit, an optional Fox 4WD off-road leveling kit, a Steeda-built 4WD adjustable 1-1/8 rear sway bar, and a Steeda Truck Performance Alignment. Under the hood, departments can choose between the 2.7- or 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost engines, each receiving a Steeda intercooler that offers up to 15 more horsepower, and S&B cold air intake filters that also add power and torque. In addition, the Steeda Special Service F-150 can accommodate an 87 or 93-octane calibration.

The truck has also been equipped with gloss black 22×10 Velgen Wheels wrapped in Nitto NT420V luxury tires for better handling on wet and dry pavement. Additionally, the Steeda Special Service F-150 features Ford Performance Mustang/F-150 TPMS Sensors, an activation tool kit, and a Steeda-made, chrome-covered lug nut kit. The truck featured here is based on a standard XL 2WD with a 6.5-foot bed. Steeda says it can also custom-build other F-150 packages based on a department’s specific needs. 4WD models can also be modified with all-terrain tires, and a lift kit, so bad guys won’t be able to escape even if they leave the pavement.

Pricing for the components is available on the company’s website, and the overall cost of one of these trucks will depend heavily on the department’s specifications. Luckily, all components are backed with a limited lifetime warranty, which should add some peace of mind.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
