In five years from now, what do you expect your vehicle to be worth? Well, if you play your cards right, you won’t have to worry too much about losing too much value. And if you follow the latest Kelley Blue Book 2023 Resale Value Awards, there are plenty of enthusiast vehicles and trucks from American brands. In five years from now, KBB says that the 2023-model-year C8 Corvette, Ford Maverick, Ford Bronco, and Jeep Wrangler are some of the vehicles that will hold their value the most.

Topping the list was the Toyota Tundra, followed by a tie between the Toyota Tacoma and Tesla Model X. The Toyota 4Runner, a rival to the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, also made the 2023 Best Overall list.

For the 2023 Kelley Blue Book Resale Value Awards, there are a total of five categories, all of which include their own top-ten winners for resale value. The different awards are; Best Overall, Best SUV, Best Car, Best Trucks EV’s and Minivans, and Best Brands. The 2023 Ford Bronco, Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Maverick, and Jeep Wrangler all landed on the Best Overall list, in that order. The Bronco ranked fourth on the list with the Corvette right behind it at fifth. The Maverick placed eighth overall and the Jeep tied for ninth with the Subaru Crosstrek.

Projections from the Kelley Blue Book Official Residual Value Guide help determine each vehicle’s expected resale value. Analysts use models built on transaction history to help determine a five-year residual value assessment that is expressed as a percentage of their original sticker price. That percentage is what is used to rank each vehicle. The higher the percentage, the higher ranked it will be.The Bronco for example has a five year resale value of 65.4% where the Corvette has 65.3%.

While the tactics may be beneficial to the masses, having the right sort of trim and VIN will play an even bigger role in the value of each specific car. In the case of the Corvette, and the Bronco, the Z06 and Heritage editions of those vehicles will hold their value likely well past the next five years, arguably only gaining value over time. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe and the 20th anniversary models that debuted last year are other prime examples of vehicles expected to hold their value longer than expected.
