REJOICE: JEEP PLANS TO CUT PRICES ACROSS SEVERAL MODELS

This Effort Could Increase Market Share

As every brand under the sun seems to be leaning into or offering some sort of rugged (or rugged-looking), 4×4 SUV and/or truck, Jeep’s OG status may have gotten crowded out. And in response, there are price cuts coming. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has already received cuts of as much as $4,000 less than in 2023. But in this effort to help, the Grand Cherokee isn’t the only vehicle receiving changes this year.

Jeep Price Cuts: Details

Per Automotive News, Jeep has also revealed that it will stop its attempts to position the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer as models from their luxury sub-brand and instead converge them into the regular Jeep family. While the brand states that this effort is to help consumers, there are other reasons they’re doing this, such as last year, when the brand sold approximately 642,000 vehicles in the United States, a 6.1% decline from the previous year. By reducing the cost of their vehicles, they also aim to increase sales and claw back some market share.

Price changes started with the Jeep Gladiator, taking off $1,700 from the overall cost of the vehicle, followed by the Grand Cherokee. Jeep is cutting the price of the Compass by roughly $2,500. That’s not even considering that the brand is adding $3,000 in content for the refreshed Wrangler and Gladiator this year, which is an extraordinary deal for those planning on buying one of the two. On top of that, Jeep is cutting factory costs by rearranging contracts with suppliers to ensure they aren’t losing profits in the overall price shift underway.

Now, all we need is for other manufacturers to start doing the same, and we could see a slow return to how things were before the pandemic. Wouldn’t that be nice?

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
