STEEDA GIVES US A CLOSER LOOK AT THE 2024 RTR FORD MUSTANG SPEC 2

Steeda Takes The Upgraded Car To The Track

2024 Ford Mustang RTR Spec 2

A couple of months ago, RTR Vehicles unveiled the first of several next-generation RTR Mustangs: the exhilarating 2024 Mustang RTR Spec 2, which builds upon the legacy of its predecessors. While we have a pretty good idea of what to expect with this legendary new Mustang offering, sometimes getting a closer view of a vehicle can make a big difference in understanding what one can expect or, at the very least, building up some more hype for the car. Luckily, we can now get a closer view of the legendary new pony car thanks to Steeda Performance.

A recent posting to the Mustang7g forum from Steeda performance revealed that along RTR’s nationwide tour, the company stopped by for a day and gave the other company a chance to check out the 2024 Spec 2 Mustang and even get behind the wheel. Steeda has already driven the 2024 Mustang GT and the EcoBoost, but this is the first modified S650 currently on the streets, which gives plenty of reasons why it’s so special. The video below showcases the S650 RTR Mustang Spec 2, taking on a short race around a track to test RTR’s tactical suspension and how it handles in an autocross setting.

2024 RTR Ford Mustang Spec 2: Details

The aforementioned tactical suspension is part of the RTR Spec 2 kit, which modifies the rear shocks with RTR Tactical Performance lowering springs, adjustable front and rear sway bars, and adjustable shocks and struts to improve handling further. While reading about it is one thing, the video should help show how well this system works when taking the RTR S650 Mustang onto a track. Of course, there’s plenty more at play for the pony car, including lower aerodynamic pieces of front, side, and rear splitters that cut the airflow and manage it in balance with the rear duckbill spoiler. This should also assist with the car’s performance when taking on corners on a track.

The grille design is pushed forward in space, accelerating airflow around it – with an open area dictated purely by the mechanical cooling needs of the car. In addition, the signature lights are multi-dimensional illuminated intake scoops with a direct purpose: to feed cool air to the engine. Though RTR doesn’t explicitly announce any improvements to the overall engine performance of the 2024 Mustang, it’s safe to assume there are some improvements, as added cooling and airflow are always good things when it comes to engine power.

Zac's love for cars started at a young age, after seeing the popular Eleanor from Gone In 60 Seconds. From there, fascination and enthusiasm blossomed and to this day the Ford Mustang remains a favorite. His first job started out detailing cars, but also provided the opportunity to work on restoration including an 1968 Ford Mustang, Pontiac Firebird, and a C3 Corvette, though he left that job before further work and experience could be had. From there, he was a detailer at a car dealership before quitting that job to try and finish college.

Much of his free time while studying was spent watching YouTube videos regarding new cars, or off-roading. 4WD247 is a personal favorite channel which rekindled a dying flame in car enthusiasm, now tailored towards trucks and SUVs and the fun that can be had building up an overlanding rig, and going on adventures, though, that chapter remains unwritten for the time being.
