If the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is a symbol for worldly indulgences, then the Ford Bronco Pope Francis Center First Edition is a symbol of cardinal virtues. This is because – as you might imagine, all proceeds of this one-of-one SUV will go towards the Pope Francis Center in Detroit, which aims to eradicate chronic homelessness in the city by 2030. But if we look a little closer, we might be seeing another teaser of the upcoming 2023 Bronco Heritage Edition.
Ford Bronco Heritage Edition Potentially Teased
Keen observers may notice that the Ford Bronco Pope Francis Center First Edition wears Wimbledon White exterior paint, which was offered on the 1966 Bronco, but hasn’t officially re-emerged as an official hue for the 2022 model. Kindling our suspicions, perhaps we’ll see it come back with the 2023 Bronco Heritage Edition.
Here’s another clue this is a Heritage Edition teaser: take a look at the wheels, also finished in Wimbledon White wheels with a Rapid Red stripe. These were by supplied by Detroit Steel Wheels, but nevertheless look very similar to the 1966 theme been spotted testing in prototype form. The heritage themes continue with period-correct Rapid Rad striping, Iconic Silver-painted elements, such as the face of the one-piece grille and the upper portion of the Ford Performance heavy-duty modular front metal bumper.
Adding to the details are a unique set of Ford Bronco First Edition graphics that integrate the Pope Francis Center name on the vehicle’s hood and bodyside. Additionally, this heritage Bronco wears several Ford Performance Parts, including a rooftop lightbar, side pod lights and wheel-well rock lights from Rigid, as well as tube doors from Genuine Ford Accessories. Other accessories include an in-vehicle safe, modular lightweight load carrying equipment (MOLLE) strap system mounted to the inner swing-gate, plus full vehicle cover and garage storage bags for the tube doors.
The Wimbledon White and red heritage themes continue on the inside of the Ford Bronco Pope Francis Center First Edition, with the instrument panel with vent accents, grab handles and signature Bronco brand lettering in red, contrasting a white dashboard, door panels, and seat inserts. Personally, the color combo reminds of an old Nintendo NES controller.
The Bronco Pope Francis Center First Edition is set to be auctioned at 4:30 p.m. MST on Thursday and will be broadcast live on FYI television. The 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition used to create this vehicle of virtue was donated by David Fischer Jr., president & CEO at The Suburban Collection Holdings, LLC.
