When FCA pulled the cover off of the Hellcat V8-powered Ram TRX, Ford trucks owners had to take a step back. With over 700 horsepower under the hood, the TRX is far and away ahead of anything Ford will sell you right now. And while we expect that the next-gen F-150 Raptor may pack the Predator V8 engine from the GT500, we are still a ways out from that debut. In the meantime, the tuners at Hennessey Performance Engineering in Texas have come up with a solution. Meet the 2021 Hennessey Venom 800, a 2021 Ford F-150 with the power to make even the TRX tremble.

The Hennessey Venom 800 starts life as a 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum in Super Crew configuration, complete with the 5.0L V8 and 4×4. From there, the team straps on upgrades like a high-flow cold air induction system, upgraded fuel injectors, upgraded fuel pump system, a stainless steel exhaust system, E85 flex-fuel sensor and chassis dyno engine calibration. The real power boost comes from a 3.0L supercharger affixed to a 5.0L Coyote V8, which produces 8 psi of boost pressure. The end result is 805 horsepower and 727 lb-ft of torque on pump E85. That is more than double what this powertrain produces from the factory, for those keeping score at home. With that supercharged engine under the hood, this modified Ford F-150 can do 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and run the ¼ in 11.9 seconds.

Hennessey didn’t stop with the engine however. The truck now rides on an off-road suspension system with upgraded shocks with external reservoirs, as well as a 6-inch lift. The suspension works in tandem with a set of Hennessey 20-inch wheel wrapped in 35-inch all-terrain tires. Behind the wheels sits a set of 6-piston Brembo brakes, which clamp down on some truly massive 15.1-inch cross-drilled steel rotors.

Like every Hennessey product, the team also fit this special F-150 with a custom front bumper and grille, as well as LED lighting and Venom 800 badging. Production is limited to just 100 units for 2021, with each truck receiving a serialized dash and engine plaque.

The 2021 Hennessey Venom 800 is the most powerful, quickest, and most exclusive Ford truck that the tuning shop has on offer. And while we are sure that there are plenty of F-150 fans that are ready to take on the Ram TRX, there is a bit of a hefty price tag attached to this truck. Turnkey models will start at $149,500, not including delivery. That is a lot of money, but that price does include the cost of the donor F-150. At least buyers will be treated to a 3 year/36,000 mile limited warranty with their purchase.

The 2021 Hennessey Venom 800 appears to be a promising performance truck, but with encrypted ECU systems becoming more and more prominent, it’s unclear if this 2021 Ford F-150 project will get off the ground, or suffer the fate of the C8 Corvette.
